Tree plantation by Nepal Army in Kathmandu

Kathmandu, Sept 12: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Nepal Army and Department of Environment have jointly organized a tree plantation program on Thursday on the occasion of forthcoming Constitution Day 2076 BS.

The aim of the tree plantation was to improve greenery in the valley. According to Nepal Army, the plantation was carried out in between Tripureshwor to Nagsthan Chowk of Sundhara.

Minister for Forest and Environment Shakti Basnet was the chief guest. On the occasion, Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Bidya Sundar Shakya and Nepal Army’s Senior Official Sharad Kumar Giri were also present.

A total of 153 trees were planted of various types. A group of Nepal Army personnel helped to carry out the plantation. Nepal Army will take care of these trees, says Nepal Army.
