Petroleum exploration intensifies in Dailekh

Dailekh, Nov 4 : Works on petroleum exploration have been intensified in areas in Dailekh district where there is possibility of petroleum reserves including at Shiristhan and Navisthan.

This follows an agreement reached between the Government of Nepal and the Government of the People’s Republic of China for the same.

Camp has been set up here near Chuprabazar of Dungeshwar Riral Municipality-1 for the Chinese petroleum exploration team and other workers. Various equipments required for the exploration are also being brought here.

It is stated that survey works would be carried out in the first phase. An office has been set up in the district headquarters for the survey works. It will be determined after the survey regarding the amount of petroleum and the locations of the petroleum reserves.

Triveni Overseas Pvt Ltd has advertised vacancies for various posts for conducting the exploration works. The company will give priority to the residents of the districts in the works, Suryamani Lamichhane of the Triveni Overseas said.

Works on petroleum exploration were moved ahead after the formal inauguration by Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Matrika Prasad Yadav and the Chinese experts’ team.
