Former Speaker Mahara gets clean chit

Kathmandu:  The District Court Kathmandu acquits ex-Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara in a case of attempted rape on Parliament staff as it found there is lack of evidence to charge him.

A single bench of Judge Ambar Raj Poudel made this verdict today, said record keeper at the Court, Ananda Prasad Shrestha.

He was arrested on October 6.
