Published Date : December 31, 2020

KATHMANDU, Dec 31: Former President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav has said that the dissolution of the parliament is unconstitutional, adding that the move has put the country on the path of uncertainty.

Speaking at a program organized on the occasion of National Reconciliation Day on Thursday, Yadav said that the move to dissolve the House of Representatives would have far-reaching impact on the constitution, democracy and sovereignty.

He said that he was hopeful like other democrats that justice would be done by the apex court.

Recalling that BP Koirala and Ganeshman Singh returned to Nepal in 2033 BS with a policy of reconciliation due to the complexity of regional politics, Yadav said that regional geo-politics has become even more complicated in the current situation.

Stating that the international focus is on the political situation in Nepal, he said that democratic institutions should be able to fulfill their duties in such a grave situation.
