Kathmandu, June 6: Meetings of both Houses of the Federal Parliament are scheduled to take place today.
The meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) has been set for 1.00 pm this afternoon.
In today’s meeting, there is a tentative schedule for Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel to table a proposal seeking a general discussion on the annual estimates of revenue and expenditure for the fiscal year 2082/83 BS with statements.
Similarly, President of State Affairs and Good Governance Committee under the HoR, Ramhari Khatiwada is scheduled to present the report on the federal civil service bill, 2082 BS in the meeting.
Likewise, the National Assembly (NA) is also set to meet at 1.15 pm today. In the meeting, general discussions on the annual estimates of revenue and expenditure will continue.

Weather to remain fair in most parts of country today
Kathmandu, June 6: Presently there is an influence of the westerly and local winds in western and central parts of the country.
According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, most parts of the Koshi Province are under the influence of monsoon winds.
This afternoon, there will be partially to generally cloudy weather in the Koshi Province and the hilly areas of the country, while the remaining parts will have clear weather.
There is a chance of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in some places of the Koshi Province and some areas in the hilly regions of other provinces.
There is also a chance of light rain and snowfall in some areas of the high hilly and mountainous regions.
Similarly, there will be partial cloudiness in the Koshi Province and the hilly regions of the country, while the remaining parts will mainly see clear weather tonight.
There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in some places of Koshi Province and in one or two places in the hilly areas of Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces.
Rhere is a possibility of light rain and snowfall in one or two places in the high hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki Provinces, the department indicated. —
Russian Language Day being marked with several programmes today
Kathmandu, June 5: The Russian Language Day today is being observed by organizing several programmes in different countries of the globe.
The day is being marked in Kathmandu with a programme to be hosted by Russian Culture Centre this afternoon.
In commemoration of the birthday of the great Russian poet Alexander.S. Pushkin, the United Nations has been marking the Russian Language Day on June 6 since 2010. This year too, the UN is organizing several programmes to observe the day today.
According to the UN, Russian language is among the six official languages being used in the global organization.
The purpose of the UN Languages Days is to raise awareness of the history, culture and development of each of the official UN languages among the staff of the Organization.—
Madhe government to unveil its policy and programme today

Janakpur, June 6: The Madhes province government is presenting its annual policy and programme for the upcoming fiscal year at the Province Assembly today.
As per the schedule, Province Chief Sumitra Bhandari will present the policy and programme at the province assembly.
Vice-Chairperson of the Madhes Policy Commission, Sohan Prasad Sah informed RSS that ther annual policy and programme will be presented placing high emphasis on agriculture.
He further shared that other priority sectors incorporated n the policy and programme are education, health, agriculture and employment. —
Dacoits murder house owner after robbery
Rajbiraj (Saptari), June 6: A group of dacoits robbed properties from a house in Surunga Municipality-8 and subsequently murdered the house owner.
On Thursday night, the group entered the house of Kantalal Chaudhary, decamped with properties and murdered him, the police informed.
Chaudhary’s younger brother, Ramakanta sustained injuries in the lethal attack of robbers.
According to the police, the dacoits had robbed the gold and silver-made jewelries and cash from the house of Chaudhary.
Search for the robbers is underway, the police said. —
Team mobilized in search of disappeared security personnel; a lifeless body detected
Itahari (Sunsari), June 6: A team has been mobilized in the search for security personnel who went missing in the Saptakoshi River on Thursday during disaster response mock practice.
A 36-member team has been mobilized under the command of Senior Superintendant of the Armed Police Force, Netra Karki, to find whereabouts of the missing security persons.
Spokesperson of the Jhapa District Police Office, Yigraj Khatiwada told RSS that the team detected the lifeless body of missing APF personnel Haradev Rajbamshi was found on the Saptakoshi River bank this morning.
Search for disappeared police personnel, Suraj Saud, of Doti district is underway, police informed.
