Ward Chair arrested over alleged attack on police post

Barhathwa (Sarlahi), Oct 8: The Sarlahi police have apprehended the ward chair of Godaita Municipality for allegedly vandalizing a police post.

Binaya Kumar Das, also known as Chhotelal, the ward chair of Godaita Municipality-7, has been arrested, said District Police Office Sarlahi, spokesperson Deputy Superintendent of Police Saroj Rai. A group led by Das allegedly vandalized the Godaita police post with stones and bamboo sticks.

Rai mentioned that the police took Ward Chair Das into custody today following a complaint regarding the incident that took place on October 3.

The police reported that on Friday evening, concerning the offerings for Durga Puja, Anil Raya Yadav and others from Godaita Municipality-5 had attacked local resident Karil Yadav on the street in Godaita Municipality-7.
