Kathmandu, Nov 28: Karnali Yaks has given a 161 victory target to Biratnagar Kings in the second match of the ongoing second edition of Nepal Premier League (NPL) on Friday.
Karnali Yaks, which chose batting first by winning a toss at TU International Cricket Ground, Kirtipur made 160 runs in 20 overs at a loss of 3 wickets.
It was Priynak Panchal making highest runs of 63, while William Bosisto made 48 runs not out. For the second wicket, they made 96 runs combined.
Captain Sandip Lamichhane and Marchant De Lange took one wicket each for Biratnagar.
Karnali Yaks, which earned two points from three matches earlier, is in a pressure to win today’s match to secure the playoff. On the other hand, Biratnagar Kings has already made six points from four matches securing second rank.

Biratnagar Kings have defeated Karnali Yaks by 3 wickets in the day-night match played under the Nepal Premier League (NPL) at TU International Cricket Ground, Kirtipur today.
Chasing a victory target of 161 runs set by Karnali, Biratnagar surpassed the target with 1 ball remaining and three wickets to spare. Player-of-the-match Basir Ahamad batted till the end to score 62 runs in 43 balls to win the game for his team.
Narayan Joshi contributed 25 runs in 16 balls followed by Sahil Patel and Sam Heazlett who scored 19 and 16 runs respectively. Biratnagar scored 25 runs as extras including 9 byes, 5 wides and 6 leg byes and 1 noball.
For the bowling side, Sompal Kami and Gulshan Jha took 2 wickets each.
Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, Karnali scored 160 runs at the loss of 3 wickets in 20 overs. Opener Priyank Panchal scored 63 in 47 balls while William Bosisto scored 48 runs, and Gulshan Jha contributed 20 runs in 10 balls.
For Biratnagar, captain Sandeep Lamichhane and Marchant de Lange took one wicket each.
With this win, Biratnagar Kings have collected 8 points in 5 matches and remain second in the points table below Sudurpaschim Royals. Karnali Yaks remain in fifth position with 2 points in 4 matches. Janakpur Bolts languish in the end of the table with three losses in three matches.
