Clouds in mountainous areas and heat wave in lowlands

Kathmandu, May 24: At present, there is an influence of the westerly wind and local wind in the country and the low-pressure area near the eastern part of Nepal.

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, it will be generally cloudy in Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces this afternoon.

The rest of the country, including the Madhes region, will have partly cloudy weather in the hilly and mountainous terrain, while the rest of the Terai terrain will be mainly clear.

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places in the hilly areas of Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces including Koshi Province, terai areas of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces. There is a possibility of hot days in the hilly terrain of the Far-Western and Lumbini provinces and heat waves in the Terai terrain.

The department also said that there is a possibility of wind in a few places of the Terai terrain of Madhes and Koshi provinces. — –
