Kaski by-election concludes peacefully, vote counting begins this night

Pokhara : The by-election held for the Member of House of Representatives in constituency-2 of Kaski district was held peacefully on Saturday.

Chief of District Election Office, Mahendra Raj Subedi, informed that voters’ turnout was estimated 65 percent at 82 voting centres in the constituency.

The ballot boxes are being gathered for vote count which will begin at District Coordination Committee building from 10:00 pm, said assistant voting officer, Ramchandra Upadhyay, adding that the vote count begins in the presence of all political parties.

He further said CCTVs were fixed for security of the vote count centre. Each election candidate will have two representatives while independent candidate one to attend the vote count.

There were a total of 21 election candidates- 10 from different political parties and 11 independent ones.
