900 plus Nepalis return home from 10 int’l flights on Sunday

Kathmandu: Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) on Sunday made a total of 16 chartered flights including 10 international and six local ones, the TIA Office said.

According to the Office, altogether 921 Nepali migrant workers stranded in different countries returned home. Prior to this, 14 flights including both the international and domestic had rescued the passengers last Friday.

Currently, chartered flights are taking place to bring back Nepalis from different countries. On Sunday, Nepal Airlines Corporation made four flights while Himalayan Airlines, Jazeera Air and Fly Dubai made equal two flights.

Altogether 247 including a baby arrived home from Riyadh of Saudi Arabia by an aircraft of Nepal Airlines while 149 passengers including three children returned home from Doha of Qatar in the NAC aircraft.

The Office shared that NAC’s two aircrafts have flown to Dubai of UAE and Dhaka of Bangladesh to rescue Nepalis there. Likewise, Himalayan Airlines rescued 153 passengers from Abu Dhabi of UAE and 21 passengers from Malaysia.

Similarly, Jazeera Air brought 166 passengers from Kuwait and has again flown to the same destination to bring more passengers from the same destination, the Office said. Fly Dubai brought 189 passengers including five children.

On domestic flights, Tara Air made a flight to Lukla and three of Manang Air in the same destination. Likewise, Kailash Air and Budda Air made each one flight.
