Second COVID-19 death reported in Lalitpur

Kathmandu: Lalitpur district has reported a second fatality from the COVID-19. The District Public Health Office (DPHO), Lalitpur confirmed the death of a 50-year-old man from the deadly infection.

The man who was originally from Ratnanagar in Chitwan district and was temporarily staying at Tikathali of Mahalaxmi Municipality succumbed to the flu-like infection today morning at around 7 am, informed Dr Khageshwor Gelal of the DPHO, Lalitpur.

Dr Gelal further shared that the COVID-19 infected person had undergone kidney transplant in Bhaktapur some five months ago.

The Nepal Army is to manage the dead body of the deceased, informed Nepal Army’s Rajdal Battalion’s Lieutenant Colonel Uttam Sapkota.

The first COVID-19 death recorded in Lalitpur district was of a 57-year-old man from Bungmati, Lalitpur Metropolitan City on May 28.

Among the total seven COVID-19 infected persons recorded in the district so far, two have lost their lives to this deadly infection.
