Two suspected detonators arrested

GAIGHAT, Nov 27: Police on Thursday arrested two people involved in detonating bomb at the office of Tapli rural municipality of Udayapur district five days ago.

Chief of District Police Office Udayapur Bhim Prasad Dahal said those arrested are Gaura Bahadur Devkota, 68, of Tapli rural municipality-5, Rupatar and Ritu BK, 35, of Tapli-1, Okhle.

BK is the Udayapur district member of Netra Bikram Chand group while Devkota is the district adviser of the group and in-charge of Limchungbung rural municipality of Udayapur, police said.

According to the police sources, the two convicts had planted Impoverished Explosive Device (IED) inside the office of Tapli rural municipality in the night time five days ago.

Those detonators were arrested acting on the tip-off and in-depth police investigation, shared Udayapur police in-charge Dahal.

Further investigation into the incident has been put forward, he informed.
