Board awards to prepare feasibility study of 250 MW solar project

KATHMANDU: The Investment Board of Nepal (IBN) has awarded Singapore-based Risen Energy JV Pte Ltd to prepare a detailed feasibility study to establish 250 MW solar energy project to be set up at Kohalpur in Banke and Banganga in Kapilvastu.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on Tuesday by Sushil Bhatt, Chief Executive Officer of the Board and Wang Qing, Development Manager for South Asia on behalf of the Risen.

According to IBN, the project will prepare feasibility study for 125 MW in Kohalpur of Banke and 125 MW at Banganga of Kapilvastu.

The study report will have to be submitted to the Board within 12 months.

The 44th meeting of the Board held on July last year decided to allow the company to prepare a detailed feasibility study report.
