Three Biplav group members arrested in Saptari

RAJBIRAJ: Three members of the Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’ group including Saptari chief were arrested by police today.

Those arrested with donation receipts were Ram Nath Mandal known as Adarha of Khadak municipality-3 in Saptari, Udayanath Mandal of Rajbiraj municipality-4 and Ram Krishna Mandal of Bishnupur rural municipality, according to DSP at the District Police Office, Saptari Bhubaneswar Prasad Shah.

Police also recovered some documents, membership receipts, donation slips and pamphlets from them.

They were arrested following an operation carried out in response to complaints of the group involved in extortion in the district, police said.

The government of Nepal had disbanded the Biplav group after their activities found anti-government and armed struggle against the present system of governance.

Biplav group was separated from NCP (Maoist) which had staged a people’s war in Nepal.
