President Bhandari offers worship at Muktinath Temple

KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has performed worship at Muktinath Temple in Mustang district this morning. On the occasion, President Bhandari received prasad from temple priest Krishna Prasad Subedi and nun Karpo.

According to the Office of President-Shital Niwas, the President flew from Kathmandu to the Muktinath Temple situated at an altitude of 3,710 metres above sea level today morning in the Nepali Army’s helicopter.

She offered her prayers in the one of the major pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhists.

The priest and nun as well as office-bearers of the Muktinath Temple, parliamentarian Prem Prasad Tulachan, CPN (UML)’s leader Shree Maya Thakali, Chief District Officer of Mustang, Netra Prasad Sharma, people’s representatives and the locals had welcomed the Head of the State, stated the office of the President.

Tourism activities in Nepal came to a standstill since the outbreak and spread of COVID-19 in the outset of 2020.

At this backdrop, visit of President Bhandari to Muktinath Temple would spread the message that the Nepal is safe for religious tourism activities. It would also promote the religious sites such as Muktinath Temple, added the Shital Niwas.

President Bhandari is scheduled to visit Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve in Baglung today itself.
