9th National Games: APF clinches gold in fencing

Kaski: The Armed Police Force (APF) Club has clinched a gold medal in women’s ‘team foil’ in fencing. At a final tournament in ‘fencing women team event’ held today in Pokhara Stadium as part of the 9th National Games, the APF departmental team emerged champion defeating the Bagmati province with 45-36.

APF has so far won two gold medals in fencing. Bagmati clinched silver medal while Gandaki province and Army won bronze medals in fencing. As of now, the Bagmati province has topped the medal table with four gold and two silver.

Army’s departmental team has so far clinched three gold, five silver and seven bronze medals in fencing. Likewise, APF team has ranked third with two gold, three silver and six bronze in fencing. Sudurapschim and host Gandaki are in fifth and sixth position in medal table. Prior to the official inauguration of 9th National Games on Friday, some sports tournaments are underway in Pokhara since October 9
