Kathmandu, June 25: There is possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall at one or two places in Koshi and Sudurpaschim Provinces today. Light to moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning is also likely at some places in the hilly areas of the country.
According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, the influence of monsoon winds is felt across the country. The weather will remain partly to generally cloudy across the country today. There is a possibility of light to moderate rainfall and snowfall at a few places in the high-hilly and mountainous areas of all the provinces.
Later, tonight, the weather will be generally cloudy in Koshi, Karnali and Sudurpaschim Provinces and the rest of the hilly areas and will be partly to generally cloudy in the rest of the country. There is a possibility of light to moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning at some places in the hilly areas including Koshi, Karnali and Sudurpaschim Provinces and at a few places in the rest of the country.

02- Supreme Court orders not to suspend Ride Sharing regulations
Kaski, June 25: The Supreme Court has asked the Gandaki Provincial Government not to suspend the enforcement of the ‘Ride Sharing’ regulations.
Responding to a writ petition filed against the provincial government’s decision to suspend the implementation of the Ride Sharing regulations, the court issued an order in the name of the provincial government to not implement its decision to suspend the regulations for a month.
The division bench of Supreme Court Justices Til Prasad Shrestha and Mahesh Sharma Poudel handed down the order on Tuesday. This has paved the way for implementation of the Ride Sharing Regulations in the Province, Chief Attorney of the Gandaki Provincial Government, Chiranjivi Sharma said.
It may be noted that the Ride Sharing (Regulation and Management) Regulations-2082 was introduced by the Province Government and published it in the Provincial Gazette on May 13. But the Federation of Nepal Transport Entrepreneurs staged a nationwide public transport strike against the Regulations, following which the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers wrote to the Gandaki Provincial Government to suspend the implementation of the Regulations. Accordingly, the provincial government decided to suspend the regulations for one month on June 3.

03- Lalitpur tables budget of 7.47 billion
Patan (Lalitpur), June 25: Lalitpur Municipal Corporation has presented a budget of Rs 7.47 billion for the fiscal year 2025/26.
Deputy Mayor Manjali Shakya Bajracharya tabled the estimates of income and expenditure for the new fiscal year in the municipal assembly on Tuesday. Of the total budget, Rs 2.96 billion has been allocated for current expenditure and Rs 4.50 billion for capital expenditure.
The LMC has targeted to collect Rs 3.71 billion from internal revenue.
The budget has given priority to areas such as good governance, heritage and cultural conservation, sustainable infrastructure, promotion of greenery, environment, self-reliant economy, quality education, clean drinking water for every household, social development, health and youth employment.

04- Health Minister gathers suggestions from Nepali health professionals based in Thailand
Kathmandu, June 25: Minister for Health and Population Pradip Paudel held a discussion with health professionals, intellectuals and medical students active in Thailand on ways to improve Nepal’s health sector based on Thailand’s experience.
Minister Paudel, who is in Bangkok to participate in the United Nations Ministerial Meeting on Population Policy, attended the discussion program organized by the Nepali Embassy, in Bangkok, on Tuesday.
During the meeting, Minister Paudel sought suggestions from the Nepali community about Thai healthcare system, health education and health insurance, according to his personal secretariat.
Minister Paudel expressed confidence that the experience gained from Nepalis who are knowledgeable about the situation in both countries will be more useful.
Nepali Ambassador to Thailand Dhan Prasad Oli said that Nepalis in Thailand are involved in medical higher education, medical practice and business along with policy making, and that exchange of experiences would pave the way for more possibilities and collaboration in the coming days.
The Nepalis involved in the development of the healthcare service provider app participating in the interaction said that they are ready to expand their services in the Nepal.

05- Eggs price increased
Chitwan, June 25: The price of eggs has been increased.
The Nepal Layers Poultry Breeders Association has fixed the support price to be implemented from today. Accordingly, the farm price in Chitwan has been set at Rs. 480 per crate large size eggs and Rs. 450 for medium size eggs. This is an increase by Rs. 30 per crate or 30 eggs.
President of the Association Binod Pokharel said that the price has been increased due to low production and high demand. Four months ago, 40,000 cartons of eggs were produced daily, but now it has dropped to 28,000 to 30,000 cartons.
According to Dr Ananta Dahal, associate professor at the Agriculture and Forestry University (AFU), Rampur, egg production has decreased due to increasing temperature that prompts the eggs laying chickens to eat less feed. The production has decreased by about 25 percent.
Furthermore, diseases are common in this season and when humidity increases due to rain the heat stress on chickens increases, which reduces production.
Meanwhile, Head of the National Poultry Disease Research Laboratory, Bharatpur, Dr. Bijay Kumar Shrestha, said samples brought here from Chitwan and surrounding districts have shown H9 (or H9N2) disease in 50 poultry farms.

06- Two children drown in septic tank
Chandrapur (Rautahat), June 25: Two children have drowned in the septic tank of a toilet in Binuwatol of Chandrapur Municipality-10.
Two-year-old Ranje Sah and two-year-old Khushbu Sah of the same locality drowned in the incident that took place last night, according to According to Rajkumar Rai, Deputy Superintendent of Police of the Area Police Office Chandranigahapur. They were playing at the house of local Hridaya Paswan when the incident took place.
Both children died during treatment at Chandranigahpur Hospital, police said.

07- UML Secretariat Meeting being held today
Kathmandu, July 25: The Secretariat meeting of the CPN (UML) is being held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister and party chair KP Sharma Oli today. The meeting is scheduled to be held at the UML headquarters in Chyasal, Lalitpur at 1:00 pm.
Secretary of the UML Central Office Dr Bhishma Adhikari said that the meeting will discuss preparations for the statute general convention, the party’s organizational activities, and contemporary political issues.
