Injured tourist waiting for rescue in Manaslu area

Gorakha, Oct 31: A tourist has suffered injuries after he was hit by falling rock at Manaslu area. The injured tourist has been waiting for rescue for two days.

The tourist identified as 44-year-old Minuindra Lamsal from Tokha-6, Kathmandu was injured when a stone hit his head while he was returning from Samagaun, Chumanubri Rural Municipality-1.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajkumar Shrestha of the District Police Office said that there were difficulties in rescuing Lamsal as the helicopter could not fly due to adverse weather conditions.

“There is a serious injury on the head, and he could not be brought to the district headquarters with people carrying him since there could be further risk,” DSP Shrestha said.

According to health worker Chhiring Khamdo Lama, who is providing primary care to Lamsal, Lamsal is awaiting rescue while receiving first aid.

Lamsal was injured when a stone fell from a cliff near Chumnubri–4 Bura and hit on his head while he was returning from Samagaun on Thursday.
