Janakpurdham, Nov 7: Construction of three overhead bridges has been initiated on the Janakpur-Dhalkebar six-lane road to reduce road accidents and to manage traffic.
Engineer Ujjwal Jha of the Road Division Office Janakpurdham, said the overhead bridges will be constructed at a cost of approximately Rs 105 million by the Government of Nepal.
Construction of an overhead bridge has been started each at Mahila Bikas Chowk and Sakhuwa Chowk of Kshireswarnath Municipality, and one at Bazaar Chowk of Laxminiya Rural Municipality along the highway, where there is heavy traffic.
Jha stated that overhead bridges are being constructed at Kshireswar Mahila Bikas Chwok at a cost of Rs 33.5 million, at Sakhuwa Chowk at a cost of Rs 35.7 million, and at Laxminiya with a cost of Rs 34.2 million. He stated that the construction of the overhead bridges will be completed within the current fiscal year.
Chief of the District Traffic Police Office in Dhanusha, Police Inspector Surya Bahadur Shahi, said that construction of the overhead bridges will help prevent traffic accidents on the road leading to Janakpur, the capital of Madhesh Province, via the East-West Highway. —
