Janak Education Materials Centre sells over 300,000 textbooks in Sudurpaschim

Kailali, April 5: The Janak Education Materials Centre’s provincial office at Dhangadhi has sold and distributed a total of 301,000 school textbooks across the Sudurpaschim Province for the upcoming academic session 2083 BS.

According to Nirmal Kumar Yadav, the Chief of the provincial office, the school textbooks for the upcoming academic session are being distributed through various book retailers in all nine districts across the province.

The sales and distribution of the textbooks amounted to over Rs 37.4 million, Yadav said. He shared that textbooks have already been transported to the hilly districts such as Bajura, Darchula, Achham and Bajhang.

The Office aims to deliver textbooks to all nine districts of the province by April 13. The province office, which started distributing textbooks since March 30, seeks to sell off more than 1.65 million textbooks throughout the province in the new academic session.

He said, “We are currently transporting books to the remote areas. We will ensure timely delivery to all districts before the commencement of the academic session.” This year, the new academic session in schools is beginning from 15th of the Nepali month Baisakh.

Yadav further mentioned that there is no shortage of textbooks and thus pledged for timely delivery in all public schools within the province. The Janak Education Materials Centre has been supplying textbooks for grade 3 to grade 12. In the current academic session, the Centre recorded the sales of altogether 1,629,263 textbooks in the province, totaling over Rs 219.3 million. —
