Dhading, April 12: The Jwalamukhi Rural Municipality in Dhading district was declared the first hygienic local level in the country.
The rural municipality made the announcement after meeting the milestones on fundamental rights ensured by the Constitution of Nepal and the strategic plans on sanitation.
House of Representatives (HoR) Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal on Sunday declared the rural municipality as the country’s first hygienic local level amid a formal event at Dhola of the rural municipality.
On the occasion, Speaker Aryal appreciated the rural municipality’s efforts to maintain sanitation and public hygiene by bringing about positive changes in public behaviour.
Rural Municipality’s Chairman Yamnath Danai said that the hygienic local level was declared by fully meeting the standards of personal and public hygiene, ensuring access to safe drinking water and other fundamental indicators. “Our goal is to set a culture of hygiene in citizens’ lives and behaviour,” Chairman Danai added. —
