Ambulance hit kills two of same family

Nepal, Nepalgunj, April 15: Two members of a same family died after being hit by an ambulance in Bardiya district this morning.

The deceased have been identified as Bhumi Lamichhane, 55, of Gulariya Municipality-55 and his around seven-year-old grandson Rihan, according to Superintendent of Police, Saroj Poudel.

The accident took place at Gulariya Municipality-7 when the ambulance (Lumbini Province BAA 0305) heading towards Rajaur of Bardiya from Kohalpur, Banke hit them. Lamichhane, a yoga teacher, was heading towards yoga camp, said police.

Similarly, Sita, 50, wife of Lamichhane, and Surya Upadhyay, 66, were injured in the incident. They are undergoing treatment at Nepalgunj Nursing Home. Police have arrested the ambulance driver and impounded the vehicle. Investigation into the incident is underway, said Prakash Singh Karki, Police Inspector at District Police Office, Bardiya.


One dies in tractor accident

A person died in a tractor accident occurred at Sanigad Khola of Sigas Rural Municipality-8 in Baitadi district today. The deceased was Lokendra Bohara, 25, from Tolkhet.

The tractor (Supa 01001 Ta 1384) heading to Deulekh of Bajhang from Lupun of Sigas Rural Municipality-8 met accident at Tolkhet.

Police Inspector at District Police Office, Suraj Singh, informed that they had established contact with tractor driver Dan Bahadur Dhami, 30. Investigation into the incident is underway, he added. The tractor fell some 300 metres down the roadway, it is said. —-

Woman dies after house wall collapses in Siraha

A woman died when a house wall collapsed on Saturday evening in Siraha. The deceased has been identified as Kisunbati Yadav, 60, of Sakhuwannkarkatti rural municipality-2.

The incident took place when a house wall collapsed on her due to storm occurred on Saturday evening. She died on the spot in the incident, said Spokesperson at the District Police Office, Ramesh Bahadur Pal.

Similarly, normal life was affected due to storm at different districts of Madhes Province on Saturday. Police shared that collection of details of loss and damage caused by the storm at different places is underway. —

Teenager missing for eight days

A teenage girl of Modi rural municipality in Parbat district has gone missing for eight days. The whereabouts of Ritika Jaisi, 14, is still unknown. She went missing while returning home from maternal uncle’s home located at Jaljala rural municipality-7.

Police said though Jaisi, a student of the Jananetra Secondary School, was found to have boarded a vehicle from Milan Chowk of Maldhunga- Beni road section, she is still out of contact.

Deputy Superintendent of Police, Bijay Yadav, said it was known that Jaisi had got off from the vehicle at Milan Chowk of Hemja in Pokhara City, 35 kilometers ahead of her destination. The family members have requested everyone to help them continue search for the missing girl. —-
