Published Date : June 4, 2026

Kathmandu, June 4: The National Assembly (NA) members have underscored the need for the newly formed Women’s Coordination Committee to effectively advocate for the matters of women rights- gender equality and empowerment.
On Thursday, they met Vice Chair of the National Assembly, Lilakumari Bhandari, and stressed the committee plays a significant role in enhancing policy discussions in the parliament.
Even the preparatory works are essential for committee’s scope of work, priorities, action plan and the development of future course.

In response, Vice Chair Bhandari pledged adequate cooperation and coordination for the establishment of the committee and the effective performance of the House. The Women’s Coordination Committee should not limit itself to formality but act as a collaborative parliamentary platform so that it could advocate well for women’s rights, equality and social justice.
