Karnali, June 8: Ramesh Kumar Sapkota has been elected district president of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) in Surkhet.
The first district convention of the party held in Birendranagar of Surkhet elected him unanimously to the post. Prior to this, he had also been serving as the party’s district president in Surkhet. He also represents Surkhet-2 in the House of Representatives.
According to Sapkota, although he was picked unopposed as district chair, the nominations of the remaining office-bearers and the members on the district executive committee will be decided by a meeting of the Election Committee. The district working committee will consist of 13 members. —
Chhetri, Thapa elected RSP district presidents in Gorkha, Khotang
Gorkha, June 8: Suwarna Rokaha Chhetri has been elected district president of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) in Gorkha by the party’s first district convention, which concluded on Sunday. He was elected to the post through voting, according to the party source.
Likewise, Suk Bahadur Tamang was elected vice-president, Milan Thapa secretary, and Yogendra Jung Basnet joint-secretary.
Meantime, Mukund Krishna Thapa has been elected as RSP district president for a second term in Khotang.
The RSP first district gathering held on December 28, 2024 had picked him as the district president.
Likewise, Gobinda Bhujel and Tara Dahal were elected unopposed as vice president and treasurer, respectively, while Parshuram Thapa and Rajan Adhiakri were elected as secretary and joint secretary, respectively.
Prakash Adhikari, Keshar Bahadur Shrestha,and Chandra Bahadur Pariyar were elected as committee members. Three women members of the 11-member District Working Committee will be nominated at its first meeting to be held at a later date, it is said. —
Upadhyay elected RSP district president in Rupandehi
Devdaha ( Rupandehi), June 8: Mahendra Prasad Upadhyay has been elected district president of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) in Rupandehi.
The party’s first district convention, that concluded on Sunday,at Manigram of Tilottama municipality-5, elected the district leadership headed by Upadhyay, who defeated his rival Ashish Neupane by 153 votes. He secured votes, while Neupane received 143.
Similarly, the convention elected Durga Prasad Aryal as vice-president with 238 votes against rival Rachana Chhetri’s 189. Gyanendra Pandey was elected secretary with 237 votes, while his competitor Mohan Bikram GC secured 203.
Babural Aryal secured 279 to emerge victorious in the election for the post of joint-secretary, while his competitor Prem Narayan Tiwari garnered 148.
The new working committee comprises Sharmila Acharya (322), Anita Panthi (267), Jamuna Sapkota (60), Ramjan Harijan (172) and Raj Bahadur Chhetri (240) as its members.
According to the election committee, Khadananda Paudel has been elected coordinator for constituency-1, Bishnu Prasad Paudel for constituency-2, Chhabilal Sharma for constituency 3, Bishwanath Sharma for constituency-4, and Sheshkant Gaire ( Samir) for constituency-5.—
Bista, Khanal elected RSP district presidents in Kanchanpur, Chitwan
Mahendranagar, June 8: Padam Bahadur Bista has been elected district president of the Rastriya Swatantra Party in Kanchanpur by securing 197 votes in the election held under the first district convention of the party.
In the voting, he defeated his rival Nabin Bahadur Chand who secured 61 votes. Prior to this, Bista had also been serving the RSP district president for Kanchanpur.
Bhagarathi Badal was elected unopposed as vice-president, while Rakesh Bahadur Chand, defeated Ramdatta Bhatta to win the election held for the post of secretary. Chand secured 195 votes, while Bhatta got 55. Yagyaraj Joshi was elected on unopposed as joint-secretary.
According to the election committee, in the election held for the president of electoral constituency-3, Ambadatta Joshi obtained 126 votes to defeat his competitor Karna Bahadur Chand who garnered 72.
Meanwhile, the first district convention of the party concluded in Chitwan, electing a new working committee under the leadership engineer Minimadhav Khanal. In the election, Khanal secured 222 votes against 111, secured by his closest rival, Krishna Prasad Bushual, while the third contender, Prakash Acharya, obtained 22 votes.
Prior to this, the RSP district leadership here had been held by Bhusal.
Similarly, Nirmala Giri won the election held for the post of vice-president with 190 votes, while her rival Tikadatta Itani, got 84 votes.
Tejendra Prasad Paudel emerged victorious in the election for secretary, securing 194 votes against 145 obtained by his competitor Netra Lamichhane. Kushal Pathak was elected as joint-secretary with 187 votes, defeating rival Parbati Pandey, who obtained 69 votes.-
