Kathmandu, June 14: Three people died in separate road accidents reported in different parts of the country, according to the central news desk of the Nepal Police.
In Dang’s Rapti rural municipality, a pedestrian, Churiya Chaudhary, of around 65 years of age died after being hit by a truck. Police said Chaudhary sustained serious injuries in the accident and breathed her last while undergoing treatment at Bhalubang Hospital. Police have apprehended the truck driver.
Likewise, a passenger bus travelling from Dang to Salyan struck a pedestrian on the road at Srinagar in Sharada Municipality-1 in Salyan district. The victim was identified as Uma Reule, 46, of Chhatreshwari rural municipality-7 in Salyan district. Reule died while receiving treatment at the District Hospital, Salyan. Police have taken the bus driver into custody.
In a separate incident, 23-year-old Sonu Gadal of Lokanthali, Bhaktapur district died when a truck collided with a scooter at Thasikhel Chowk in Lalitpur Metropolitan City-13 in Lalitpur district on Sunday morning. Gadal was riding scooter when the incident took place.
Critically injured in the accident, Gadal was rushed to the Patan Hospital where she died during the treatment. Police have detained the truck driver, said the central news desk of the police. Police said further investigation into all three accidents is underway. —
