Kathmandu, June 17: A total of 2,535 vehicles were fined for violating traffic rules in the past 24 hours . The Kathmandu Traffic Police Office said that revenue of over Rs 1.9 million was deposited into the state treasury from the fine.
The violations included 101 incidents of drunk-driving, 129 of ride-sharing against the rules, 106 of traffic signal violations and 138 incidents of over-speeding.
Likewise, 81 cases were recorded for breaching lane discipline, 141 for honking in prohibited areas, 117 for parking on roadsides, 113 for driving against one-way traffic and 1,609 other breaches. —
