Darchula, June 30: A landslide occurred at Terchhalek has blocked the Darchula-Gokuleshwor section of the Mahakali Highway.
The land slip deposited on the road last night, obstructing vehicular movement, according to the District Police Office, Darchula. The vehicles running for both long and short destinations have been stranded after the road obstruction.
However, the police informed that efforts were on to clear debris. The district police here has urged one and all to maintain utmost precaution while travelling during rainy time.
Landslide blocks Kanti Highway
The Kanti Highway linking Hetauda to the federal capital, Kathmandu, has been blocked due to landslide at Bharengdanda of Bhimphedi Rural Municipality-8 since this morning.
The District Police Office, Hetauda informed that landslips occurred at several places on the border of Makwanpur and Lalitpur districts, causing obstruction to the vehicular movement along the roadway.
Continuous rainfall has caused difficulty in clearing the landslips. However, blockade would be cleared immediately after improvement in weather. Deputy superintendent of police at the District Police Office, Madhav Prasad Kafle, requested all concerned ones to use alternative route till the next notice.
