Published Date : July 12, 2026

Kathmandu, July 12: Parliamentary Party Whip of ruling Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Prakash Chandra Pariyar has said that it was unfortunate that the people from the Dalit community are still not enjoying their right to keep dignified surname in practice.

At an interaction organized by Samata Foundation on Sunday, Whip Pariyar said that the list recommended by the National Dalit Commission should be given a recognition and the other missing ones should be updated gradually.

Pariyar added that some of the members from the Dalit community were forced to carry the humiliating surname as they were not updated in some cases. —
