Infuse technology in education, making it empirical: President Paudel

Lalitpur, Oct 3: President Ramchandra Paudel has said curriculum and teaching learning activities should be revised by integrating technology as per the need of time.

Inaugurating the 75th anniversary celebrations of the Jawalakhel-based Saint Xavier’s School on Saturday, the Head of State was of the view that along with knowledge and skills, building citizens with integrity, creativity, cooperation, compassion and social responsibility is an inherent tenet of education. It should be specially focused to develop an education system capable of preparing productive human resources with love for the motherland.

“Education is a powerful means for developing one’s knowledge, wisdom, character, and sense of responsibility. It serves as a supporting tool to build an accountable citizen with awareness of own society, culture, history and nation,” the President explained.

Paudel further said the Saint Xavier’s School bears a glorious history as an academic institution promoting disciplined, cultured, service-oriented, responsible and human- values-based education system throughout its journey. “The school has made a noteworthy contribution to Nepal’s educational development,” the President noted.

According to him, the real education system does not limit itself to achieving good scores, as it is for nurturing basic human values among graduates.

“In this advanced era of rapid development of information technology, our education system is highly supposed to answering the questions regarding the kind of nation we wish to build and the nature of workforce required for the future,” he underlined.

The President expressed confidence that the school would further contribute to the holistic development of citizens and nation-building in the days to come. —-
