Forty-two Indian nationals stranded at brick kiln rescued

Rautahat, Oct 5: The police rescued 42 Indian nationals who had come to work at a brick kiln in Laxmipur, Gujara Municipality-5, Rautahat, and sent them back home.

According to Basanta Gautam, the information officer and Deputy Superintendent of Police of the District Police Office Rautahat, 42 people – 12 men, 11 women, 10 boys, and 9 girls – who had come to work at the Madina Brick Factory in Lakshmipur through an Indian contractor were rescued after they were left in the lurch.

They have been handed over to the Indian Border Security Force today.

Brick kiln operator Mohammad Mujamil said that he gave 600 thousand Indian rupees to Indian contractor Mohammad Nasir four days ago for managing food ration and expenses, but the workers have been left stranded after the contractor went out of contact.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Gautam said that they are searching for the Indian contractor who brought workers from India and abandoned them, and further investigation is underway regarding this. —
