30-day countdown to 10th National Games begins

Karnali, Nov 2: Minister for Education and Sports, Sasmit Pokharel, has stated that preparations for the 10th National Games are in full swing.

Marking the start of the 30-day countdown to the event, he noted that the construction of necessary infrastructure, management of human resources, and mobilization of resources are underway through the coordination, collaboration, and joint efforts of the Federal Government, the Karnali Provincial Government, and Birendranagar Municipality.

Stakeholders from all sectors and levels must fulfill their respective roles with integrity to make this a sucess.” Since this major sporting extravaganza is being hosted in Karnali, I am confident that the provincial and local governments will prioritize their responsibilities and carry them out effectively,” he said. He also emphasized the Federal Government’s firm commitment to the successful execution of the games.

Chief Minister of Karnali Province, Mangal Bahadur Shahi, stated that the successful hosting of the 10th National Games is a matter of prestige, while noting that all infrastructure construction at the stadium is complete and the focus is now on arrangements such as accommodation and ensuring a comfortable environment for all those attending the games, including the athletes.

Minister for Social Development, Jeet Bahadur Malla, affirmed that no effort would be spared to ensure the success of the sporting event.

Ramcharitra Mehta, Member Secretary of the National Sports Council, stated that efforts have been intensified to promote the competition and ensure its grand success by giving it a nationwide reach. The 10th National Games begins in Surkhet on coming December 2. —
