Kathmandu, Nov 4: Famous South African cricketer David Miller has arrived in Nepal to play the third edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL). He arrived this morning at Tribhuvan International Airport. Miller was welcomed at the airport by representatives of the NPL team, Karnali Yaks. This is Miller’s first time in Nepal.

Karnali Yaks have signed Miller as a foreign player for this edition. The left-handed batter Miller is known for his aggressive batting in limited-overs cricket and his ability to turn the game in his favour under pressure.

The 37-year-old Miller has scored 2,804 runs for South Africa in 140 T20 internationals, including two centuries and nine half-centuries. Similarly, he has made 4,762 runs in 180 One Day Internationals, with eight centuries and 24 half-centuries.

Overall, his experience in T20 cricket is even more impressive. Miller has scored 12,435 runs with four centuries and 53 half-centuries in 584 games across various domestic and franchise competitions. He has played in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for teams like Punjab Kings, Rajasthan Royals, Gujarat Titans, and Delhi Capitals.

In 2022, he was an important member of the Gujarat Titans when they won their first title. Miller, who scored a T20 international century off just 35 balls against Bangladesh in 2017, is considered one of the experienced players in world cricket.

The third edition of the NPL is being held at the Tribhuvan International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur from October 26. —
