Government appoints Dr KC as new IGP, assigns IGP Karki as special security advisor

Kathmandu, Nov 4: The government has decided to appoint Dr Manoj Kumar KC to the post of Inspector General of Nepal Police.

A cabinet meeting held today took the decision to promote Additional Inspector General Dr KC to the post of IGP effective from November 4, today, as per Rule 41 of Nepal Police Regulations, 2071, shared Spokesperson of the government and Minister for Education and Sports, Sasmit Pokharel.

Minister Pokharel added that the government also decided to create a post of IGP-level special security advisor of the Prime Minister at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers to provide security-related advice, suggestion and counsel to the Prime Minister to strengthen country’s peace and security in present scenario.

Similarly, a decision was taken to assign IGP Dan Bahadur Karki to the post. —
