Kathmandu, Aug 5: Currently the monsoon wind has its impacts across the country with the low-pressure line of the monsoon slightly north from its average position, the Meteorological Forecasting Division mentioned.
The Division stated that the weather is likely to remain mostly cloudy throughout the country today.
Moderate rain is likely to occur at some places of Koshi Province and Madhesh Province, and at many places in the remaining provinces.
It said there are chances of heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places of Lumbini Province and Sudurpaschim Province, and at one or two places of Bagmati Province and Gandaki Province.
Likewise, there will be cloudy weather patterns throughout the country tonight.
Moderate rain is likely to occur at many places of Lumbini Province, Karnali Province and Sudurpaschim Province, and at some places in the remaining provinces, the Division shared.
Chances of heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places of Lumbini Province and Sudurpaschim Province are likely tonight.

Water flow measured at 179,000 cusecs in Saptakoshi River
Inaruwa (Sunsari), Aug 5: As the eastern hilly and Tarai districts receive continuous rainfall for the past couple of days, the water flow in the Saptakoshi River has substantially increased. The water level is the river is inconsistent since early morning Monday.
Superintendent of the Armed Police Force, Nepal, Nirmal Thapa shared that water flow in the river was recorded at 179,740 cusecs per second at 10:00 pm on Monday and 19 doors out of 56 of the Koshi Barrage have been opened.
Earlier on Monday morning and late evening, the officials measured the water flow at around 175,000 cusecs per second.
A red alert is issued to the public after the Koshi River recorded more than 150,000 cusecs of water flow per second.

Mid-Hill Highway obstructed in Baglung
Baglung, Aug 5: The Mid-Hill Highway along the Kathekhola Rural Municipality in Baglung district was obstructed following a landslide. Vehicular movement in the section has been blocked since last night, police said.
Police Inspector of District Police Office, Baglung, Keshav Thapa shared that the vehicles to and from Baglung, Rolpa, Rukum, Jajarkot, Dolpa, Gulmi were stranded halfway after the landslide.
Police Inspector Thapa shared that efforts are ongoing to clear the debris. “We had sent a team last night. But, we could not clear the road last night. We are working now,” he said adding that it could take some more time to resume the traffic.

HoR meeting at 1:00 pm
Kathmandu, Aug 5: The House of Representatives (HoR) is holding its meeting at 1:00 this afternoon. The HoR meeting is scheduled to approve the Alternative Finance Mobilization Bill, 2081.
Prior to this, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Bishnu Prasad Paudel is scheduled to present the Bill in the HoR meeting for a clause-wise discussion. The proposals received on the Bill would be tabled in the meeting for the decision.
Likewise, concerned ministers are scheduled to respond to the concerns raised on the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies and Ministry of Youth and Sports.
Similarly, Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development Ramnath Adhikari is presenting the Nepal Veterinary Medicine (First Council) Bill, 2082. Furthermore, Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens Nabal Kishor Sah Sudi is scheduled to present the Bill on Children (First Amendment), 2082 seeking consideration of the HoR.

Parliamentary special committee prepares report on cooling-off period controversy
Kathmandu, Aug 5: The parliamentary special committee formed by the House of Representatives (HoR) to study and probe the wrongdoings committed in the drafting of the report on the Federal Civil Service Bill, 2080 BS completed its report.
The report is likely to be presented in today’s HoR meeting, committee member Madhav Sapkota said. The committee finalized its report in 29 days by holding 37 meetings.
The HoR had formed the parliamentary special committee on July 7 as per the HoR Regulations.
It is said that the committee prepared the report by holding consultations with the experts and stakeholders by exploring how such errors happen and what measures should be applied to avert such errors and apply precautions in the future.
The committee formed under the Nepali Congress (NC) lawmaker Jivan Pariyar had the NC lawmaker Sushila Thing, CPN (UML) lawmakers Narayan Prasad Acharya and Ishwari Gharti, CPN (Maoist Centre) lawmaker Madhav Sapkota, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) lawmaker Ganesh Parajuli and Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) lawmaker Roshan Karki as the members.

Dang-Salyan road section obstructed
Dang, Aug 5: The Dang-Salyan road section of the Rapti Highway was obstructed after a heavy rain caused a landslide at Kapurkot, the border point of Dang and Salyan districts.
Chief of Kapurkot Police Post Tankeshwor Bhattarai said that vehicular movement along the route is fully obstructed from early morning today as the road is blocked from the landslide.
Bhattarai said the landslide occurred at Kapurkot Rural Municipality-3 in Salyan district and added that efforts are initiated to resume the traffic.
The vehicles and riders have been told to use alternative routes and apply precautions in the wake of road obstruction and landslide.

Basic hospital in Baglung prepares to provide dialysis service
Galkot (Baglung), Aug 5: A 15-bed basic hospital of Badigad Rural Municipality in Baglung district is working to provide dialysis service for the kidney patients in the near future.
To run the dialysis service, the rural municipality received five sets of dialysis equipment worth Rs 10 million.
Chairperson of the rural municipality, Gandaki Thapa Adhikari, shared that the dialysis machines were brought as part of the ongoing preparations to provide services soon.
She shared that Badigad is most probably the first local government in the country to provide dialysis service from its basic hospital.
The hospital buildings were constructed recently at Gwalichaur area of the rural municipality with the total cost of Rs 180 million.
Dhaulagiri Hospital in Baglung district headquarters is also providing the dialysis service.
The Badigad Rural Municipality and Sahid Dharmabhakta National Transplant Centre, Bhaktapur, had signed an agreement paper a year ago for the beginning of the service in Badigad.
Likewise, the rural municipality is also making preparations for hiring human resources.
