Kathmandu, Sept 6: Fiction writer Manu Yonghang has come up with his eighth literary creation, Sekmuri Phool, a novel which is based on Mundhum and Buddhist philosophies, scholarship and dialogues.
The book was unveiled amidst a function here on Saturday.
Releasing the book, former Chancellor of Nepal Academy Bairagi Kainla said the novel has introduced the country’s existing life philosophies along with the Buddhist and Limbu philosophies.
He mentioned that the novel carries the mythical and stylistic diversities. “The readers understand what the Mundhum philosophy is. Also, other issues of the life philosophy become clear (to the readers). It gives a clear understanding on the depth of our knowledge,” Kainla added.
Novelist Yonghang expressed the confidence that his book would be useful to the readers from all communities. “I have attempted to share the Mundhuli contexts to the readers,” adding that the fiction is based on time and context of the Buddhist era and ancient Theravada Hinayana sect.
Sharing his thoughts on the book, litterateur Krishna Dharabasi said the book written being based on Mundhumi philosophy would contribute to closely interact us with the strong aspects of our philosophies.
Dr Sanjeev Humagain, Anupama Regmi and Dipak Lungeli Magar also shared their commentaries on the book. They argued that the writer has made efforts to share the norms and values of the life.
Sekmuri Phool is also considered a symbol of life in the Kirat Mundhum.
