Kathmandu, Dec 29: The Sardikhola Students Welfare Committee has provided the scholarship and educational materials to students and felicitated teachers on the occasion of the 30th year of the Committee’s establishment.
A total of 260 brilliant and poor students from grades 1 to 12 of wards no. 1, 2 and 3 of Machhapuchhre Rural Municipality in Kaski district were provided with the scholarship amount, educational materials and prizes worth Rs 742,000.
Likewise, the Committee felicitated Principal of Machhapuchchhre Secondary School Santosh Acharya and other teachers for their outstanding contributions to the same school.
At a programme organized recently, culture expert Dr Jagaman Gurung gave away a letter of appreciation and Rs 50,000 in cash to Principal Acharya.
Principal Acharya was honoured for his leading and incredible contributions to the quality upliftment of the school. Principal Acharya has established the school as a role model, setting a model of how the community schools could be best run in the country’s rural areas. Acharya has received several other awards and appreciations at local and national levels.
The Sardikhola Students Welfare Committee was established by a former student of Machhapuchhre Secondary School, Bhim Tamang, with the aim of uplifting students’ academic attainment, talents development and raising awareness in the educational field.
