Rainfall occurs in most parts of the country including Kathmandu Valley

Kathmandu, March 28: Most of the parts in the country including the Kathmandu Valley received rain on Saturday as well.

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, most of the districts in all provinces except Sudurpaschim and Lumbini provinces received moderate rain, while the districts in Sudurpaschim and Lumbini provinces recorded sporadic rainfall.

Information Officer of the Department, Dinkar Kayastha, said most of the places in the country recorded 30 milimetres to 45 milimetres of rain on Saturday, with more concentration in the eastern part of the country. Light rain occurred in the Kathmandu Valley this evening as well.

According to Kayastha, more than 25 stations of the Department across the country recorded a minimum of 20 milimetre of rain. He said that the rainfall has gradually decreased but the weather will remain cloudy on Sunday. In its meteorological analysis, the Department stated that there is an influence of the westerly low pressure system as well as local winds in the country at present.

In a bulletin issued this evening by the Department, it said that the hilly and Himalayan region of the country will remain generally cloudy on Sunday and the rest of the parts in the country will be partly cloudy.

On Sunday, generally cloudy conditions will prevail over the hilly and mountainous regions of the country, while partly cloudy conditions will prevail in the remaining parts of the country.

There is a possibility of light rainfall and snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning at a few places in the hilly and mountainous regions on Sunday. —
