Chair Oli and leader Lekhak freed

Kathmandu, April 9: CPN (UML) Chair KP Sharma Oli and former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak have been released from police custody.

Ramesh Thapa, Chief of Kathmandu District Police Office, informed that Chairman Oli and leader Lekhak were released on attendance bond. They remained in custody for 13 days.

Nepal Police, with the order from Home Minister Sudhan Gurung, detained both the leaders on charges alleged involvement of killing19 youths during Gen Z Protest on September 8, 2025. But both of them denied those charges. —
