PM Shah holds talks with Bagmati Province MPs

Kathmandu, April 14: Prime Minister Balendra Shah has held discussions with members of the House of Representatives elected from Bagmati Province.
The meeting, held today at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, focused on programmes that can be implemented within the current fiscal year 2026/27, as well as longterm priorities in infrastructure development, agriculture, tourism, health, education, good governance and the social sector.
During the discussion, participating MPs outlined the challenges, opportunities and priority plans in their respective constituencies, presenting a range of demands and suggestions.
Among them, Ashika Tamang, an MP from Dhading-1, called for the implementation of a modern waste management system in Sisdol and Bancharedanda. She also urged stricter monitoring of green stickers to control vehicular pollution and proposed a special education package for the Chepang and Tamang communities.
According to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, emphasis was also placed on prioritising the construction of the Sitapaila–Dharke alternative route.
Similarly, Yubaraj Dulal from Sindhupalchowk stressed the need for legislation to address the issue of monkey menace. He also called for the protection of vulnerable settlements along the Melamchi and Indrawati rivers and the resolution of outstanding payment issues related to the Melamchi Drinking Water Project.
From Kavrepalanchowk, Badan Kumar Bhandari urged the government to advance the Sunkoshi-3 reservoir project, develop Dhulikhel as the capital of Bagmati Province, expand the Araniko Highway to four lanes, and establish a regional-level specialised hospital in Panchkhal.
