Nepal (Kathmandu), April 18: The 15th conference of the South Asian Federation of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (SAFOG) and the 18th conference of Nepal Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists has concluded in Kathmandu.
More than 500 obstetricians and gynaecologists from the country and abroad participated in the three-day conference.
The theme of the conference was – “Advancing Women’s Health in South Asia: Quality, Innovation and Sustainability”.
Leading gynecologists, obstetricians and healthcare professionals from across South Asia and other countries participated in the SAFOG-NESOG Conference, featuring expert lectures, panel discussions, workshops and research presentation on the latest advancement in women’s health, maternal care and gynecological practices.
Former Health Minister Dr Sudha Sharma stated that the conclusions from the conference will contribute further to women’s health care, quality innovation, sustainability, and research.
NESOG President Prof Dr Padam Raj Pant expressed his belief that the joint conference has contributed to expanding the scope of knowledge regarding discoveries, research, and treatments related to obstetrics and gynaecology in various countries.
Former president of NESOG, Dr Dhan Bahadur Ranamagar, on the occasion said that the Conference was taken as an opportunity to share treatment methods related to obstetric diseases, research findings on the subject, and to identify problems and seek solutions.
Two hundred research papers related to obstetrics and gynaecology were presented and discussed during the conference. —
