Over 18,000 tourists observe Koshi Tappu

Inaruwa, Aug 23 : As many as 18,773 tourists have observed the Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve – a popular tourism destination to see wild buffalo – in a year.

Ganesh Prasad Tiwari, Information Officer of the Reserve, shared that the tourists visited the Koshi Tappu, located at Paschimkushaha in Koshi rural municipality of Sunsari, in the fiscal 2075/76.

During the period, 18,385 Nepali, 36 nationals from SAARC countries and 352 foreigners had observed the Reserve.

The highest flow of tourists was recorded in the Nepali month of Kartik while Falgun saw the lowest influx, the official data revealed.

According to Reserve Administration, tourists generally come to visit the Reserve for observing various species of birds, butterfly and wild buffalos as well as for elephant riding.
