Minister Pandit sees need of protecting religion, culture

Biratnagar, Oct 26 : Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration Lal Babu Pandit has sought contribution of all from the respective quarters to protect religion and culture.    

While laying a foundation stone of a Chhatimata temple and a community building at Tinapani east of Biratnagar-2 today, the minister described culture and religion as country’s custom and added that through its protection, social unity could be strengthened.

                
He insisted on maintaining quality in the construction works and assured of additional budget, if necessary, for the construction. He urged locals to be enthusiastic and help accelerate the works.    
He expressed his confidence that the building construction would be beneficial for the locals.    

State 1 social development minister Jeevan Ghimire underlined the need of support from three-tier government and of partnership among all for the development of society.
Biratnagar metropolis mayor Bheem Parajuli said partnership among all in development endevours would yield a positive result.    


On the occasion, social worker Pankaj Verma announced to provide Rs 251,000 for the project while Building Construction Committee coordinator Dhirendra Karma promised to contribute Rs 51,000 to it.    


The two-storey temple to be spread on two kattha of land will have five rooms including two meeting halls.The building construction is estimated to cost Rs 20 million and the tentative deadline for it is two years.    
The federal government has already released Rs 2.5 million under its Tarai-Madhes prosperity programme and the State government has already provided Rs 500 thousand for the project.
