Mahakali Highway in Dogadakedar blocked

Baitadi, Sept 18: The Mahakali Highway has been blocked due to a landslide that occurred this morning in Salsena of Dogadakedar Rural Municipality-5.

The highway has been completely blocked due to the landslide, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Deepak Kumar Raya. The landslide fell from above the road bringing traffic to a standsill, and leaving passengers leaving for Darchula and from Darchula stranded.

Efforts are being made to clear the landslide debris and open the road for traffic in coordination with the Road Division Office and local bodies. Prior to this the highway has been blocked due to a landslide on Tuesday.

Madan Bhandari highway and Kaligandaki Corridor in operation

Gulmi: The Kaligandaki Corridor and Madan Bhandari Highway blocked for traffic due to landslides triggered by continuous rain have come into operation.

The Kaligandaki corridor was completely blocked since Wednesday morning after a landslide at Rakse in Kaligandaki Rural Municipality-2 under the Gulmi section of the Corridor. Information Officer and Deputy Superintendent of Police Ganga Bahadur Saru of the District Police Office shared that the road has been fully operational since this morning after the landslide debris were removed.

Similarly, the Madanbhandari Highway which was blocked for traffic since Wednesday morning has also come into operation since this morning. The road was completely blocked after a landslide at Salleri in Rurukshetra Rural Municipality-3 of Ridi-Tamghaskhand in Gulmi.

The continuous rain taking place in the district for the past three days has stopped this morning.
