Prime Minister Karki urges all to ensure election success

Kathmandu, Oct 27: Prime Minister SushilaKarki has urged that the upcoming election on 21 Falgun (March 5) be regarded as a national ritual.

In her best wishes message released today for Chhath festival, a significant festival dedicated to the worship of the Sun, Prime Minister Karki emphasized, ‘I call on all parties to also embrace the upcoming election as a national ritual and to participate in and make it successful.’

The message reflects on the circumstances following the Gen-Z movement, highlighting the obligation to hold the House of Representatives (HoR) election on March 5.  The message calls for all parties to acknowledge the sensitivity of the current situation and their individual responsibilities, working collectively to ensure the election’s success.

The message reads, ‘Street protests alone are not the solution to all problems,’ and adds, ‘Even if one has certain stances or grievances, presenting them peacefully to win the support of the general public and getting them approved through elections is the best method of democracy.’

The Prime Minister conveyed her best wishes to all Nepali brothers and sisters, both in home and abroad, expressing hope that this festival will help eliminate social, caste, and gender disparities, thereby enhancing national unity. 

She stated, ‘I sincerely hope that the worship of the Sun God and the blessings of Mother Chhathi will inspire all of us to protect our constitutional achievements and move forward towards building a prosperous, inclusive, and well-governed Nepal.’

Vice President Yadav extends best wishes for Chhath festival 

Kathmandu, Oct 27: Vice President Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav has conveyed his best wishes for the Chhath festival to instill a sense of nationalism among the citizens.

On the occasion of Chhath festival–2082 BS, he shared a message of best wishes today, stating, “I hope the Chhath festival will strengthen and further solidify the bonds of national unity and integrity, uniting all Nepalis in harmony, love, and cooperation.

The message reads, ‘The worship of the setting and rising Sun God is a defining feature of this festival. This reverence for the Sun God, who provides energy and sustenance to the entire planet, along with Chhathi Goddess, who blesses families with longevity and well-being, reminds us to appreciate the source of life.’

Country’s challenging circumstances must be converted into stability: Speaker Ghimire

Kathmandu, Oct 27: Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR) DevrajGhimire has highlighted the urgent need to turn the country’s challenging situation, which arose following the Gen Z movement, into peace and stability as quickly as possible.

On the occasion of Chhath Festival 2082 BS, Speaker Ghimire shared a message of best wishes today, stating, “In the wake of the movement led by the younger generation, it is essential for the government, political parties, youth, civil society, and the citizens of Nepal to collaborate in transforming the current unrest into peace and stability.

It is crucial for all of us to collectively commit to addressing the youth’s demands for an end to corruption and the establishment of good governance.” He conveyed his warm wishes to all Nepali brothers and sisters, both in home and abroad, expressing hope that this festival will help eliminate social, caste, and gender inequalities, thereby further enhancing national unity.

He remarked, ‘I genuinely hope that the worship of the Sun God and the blessings of Mother Chhathi will motivate us all to safeguard our constitutional achievements and progress towards creating a prosperous, inclusive, and well-governed Nepal.’

Chhath festival braces national unity: Chairman Dahal

Kathmandu, Oct 27: Narayan Prasad Dahal, the Chairperson of the National Assembly, has voiced his conviction that the Chhath festival will significantly contribute to enhancing social and cultural harmony, as well as fostering national unity.

On the occasion of Chhath festival 2082, he conveyed his warmest wishes for happiness, peace, prosperity, and longevity to all Nepali brothers and sisters, both within the nation and abroad, while expressing this belief. He remarked, “Our country is characterized by its multi-religious, multi-linguistic, multi-cultural, and multi-ethnic nature.

The Constitution guarantees equal rights to various ethnicities, religions, cultures, and communities. Festivals that align with the original cultures of different ethnicities, religions, and communities showcase our diversity.”

He emphasized that the unity found within diversity is the essence of being Nepali. The Chhath festival, which involves the worship of the sun, is recognized as a celebration that forges a bond between nature and human existence. He stated, ‘I sincerely extend my heartfelt wishes with the belief that the Chhath festival, celebrated with faith in the welfare of the family, the happiness of children, and the fulfillment of desires, will motivate all of us to progress along the path of family, community, and overall human welfare.’ —
