‘Infrastructures for rural health, education in focus’

Published Date : November 26, 2025

Karnali, Nov 26: Minister for Social Development in Karnali Province, Ghanashyam Bhandari, has said province government was focused on building infrastructures for expanding health and educational services at local levels.

Inaugurating a 15-bed municipal hospital at Devsthal of Bangad Kupinde municipality-1 in Salyan district on Tuesday, Minister Bhandari viewed it was essential to build infrastructures for better health and education in the rural area. It further helps in checking the increasing out-migration. He informed that medical officers weer mobilized at local levels.

All local levels of Salyan and Rukum Paschim districts had the medical officers except at Darma rural municipality of Salyan.

On a different note, the Minister urged people’s representatives at the local levels to ensure public accountability and smooth service delivery.

Karnali Province Assembly member and former Minister Bhim Prakash Sharma expressed gratitude to the Province government for its support in managing medical officers at local levels. He also vowed support for upgrading the hospital.

Mayor Karna Bahadur Budhathoki expressed happiness over the realization of running a 15-bed hospital in the municipality, which, he argued, will end the hassles.

‘One-door system essential for convenient public service’

Chairman of the Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), Chandra Prasad Dhakal, has said one-door policy was required to spur industrial activities in the country.

At a programme organized by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supply on the occasion of the 11th National Industry Day on Tuesday, Chairman Dhakal complained that for the industrialists to carry out similar sort of activities, they are forced to visit various government offices, creating unnecessary hassles and consuming time. It is harassing and disheartening to the investors and entrepreneurs, he added.

“There are many government institutions dealing with the works of similar nature, which does not help in creating an industry-friendly atmosphere,” he said, underlining the need for adopting one-door policy. He said the September 8-9 protest in the country dented national economy, so it is urgent to provide individual and industrial security by the State. If the investment eludes safety, it is impossible to secure additional money. Export market is worrying, so government needs continuing financial grants.

However, the business leader observed positively that the government set up a fund to promote startups and innovation.  “FNCCI is ready to cooperate with government for creating employments through the development of entrepreneurship,” Dhakal vowed. —
