School curriculum with Devghatdham’s identity and culture

Dumre (Tanahun), May 11: Devghat Rural Municipality has implemented a local curriculum highlighting the identity, culture and geography of Devghatdham. The rural municipality has announced that it has implemented a curriculum titled ‘Our Devghat’ for the basic level (grades 1-5 and 6-8) from the current academic session.

The curriculum will be taught in all 35 community schools under the jurisdiction of the rural municipality. Devghat Rural Municipality Chair Til Bahadur Thapa said that the curriculum includes the historical and religious importance of Devghat, local tourist sites, people’s life, flora and fauna, and the customs of various ethnicities.

Spokesperson of the rural municipality and Chair of Ward 5, Purna Bahadur Kunwar, said that the curriculum will be important in making education practical for daily life as well as promoting the overall identity of Devghat. ––
