Kathmandu, June 1: The House of Representatives meeting has been adjourned for 15 minutes. Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal adjourned the meeting for 15 minutes after MPs stood from their seats to express protest over certain issues raised by Prime Minister Balendra Shah while responding to lawmakers’ queries in the House on Sunday.

As soon as today’s meeting of the lower house of the Federal Parliament began, all opposition parties, including the main opposition, Nepali Congress, expressed their protest over the PM’s remarks.

The House proceedings ran for a while after Speaker Aryal gave time for opposition party MPs to speak on an urgent matter. After the opposition MPs spoke, all opposition MPs stood up to express their protest.

Speaker Aryal repeatedly urged the MPs from the opposition benches to take their seats so that the House could enter the day’s agenda. He adjourned the meeting after the opposition MPs failed to heed him.

NA meeting postponed for 20 minutes

Likewise, members of the National Assembly have also disrupted the meeting demanding information from the government regarding the alleged Nepal’s violation of India’s border.

Demanding emergency time at the beginning of the meeting, MP Ranjit Karna objected to the statement made by Prime Minister Balendra Shah in the meeting of the House of Representatives on Sunday that Nepal has encroached on India’s border and demanded clarification in this regard.

MPs Rajendra Lakshmi Gaire, Ram Kumari Jhankri and Tul Prasad Bishwakarma, who spoke after MP Karna, also demanded clarification regarding the Prime Minister’s speech.

After the emergency, the MPs stood up from their respective seats and protested, demanding that the government clarify the matter. The meeting has been postponed for 20 minutes.
