Additional team of specialist doctors heading towards flood-hit areas

Kathmandu, Sept 11: Additional team of specialist doctors has been deployed in Bhotekoshi flood-hit areas in order to augment to the maternity and child health services there.

The Ministry of Health and Food Safety is sending the additional team comprising specialist doctors of Paropakar Maternity and Women’s Hospital as well as Kanti Children’s Hospital at flood-affected areas. The team is leaving for Nuwakot today.

Though health teams have been providing services in such areas, there is a need of specialist services related to maternity, pediatric and reproductive health, added the Ministry.

Pediatrician of Kanti Children’s Hospital, Dr Bina Prajapati, senior gynecologists of Paropakar Maternity and Women’s Hospital, Dr hari Kumar Shrestha, and Dr Shreeram Khadka. The team would reach flood-affected areas of Nuwakot and Rasuwa and provide the health services. —
