Kathmandu, Oct 8: President Ramchandra Paudel has said that building a prosperous Nepal is not possible just through the government or efforts of one sector, but it can be achieved through a shared national commitment of the state, private sector, and the society as a whole.
In a meeting with the officials of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) today, he expressed the expectation that the private sector will take a more responsible, creative, and leading role in turning the vision of a prosperous Nepal into reality. He appreciated the contribution of the private sector to Nepal’s economic prosperity.
President Paudel said that collaboration between the government and the private sector is essential to make Nepal’s economy dynamic, productive, and competitive. Stating that the organizational expansion of the federation and the progress of more than 1.4 million businessmen associated with it is the overall progress of the country, he said that the private sector plays an important role in economic development, job creation, and improving citizens’ living standards.
He said that the government needs to ensure policy stability, investment protection, infrastructure development, smooth administration, and a business-friendly environment, while the private sector should further expand investment, production, entrepreneurship, innovation, and job creation. President Paudel said that trust and cooperation between these two sides can build a strong foundation for economic prosperity.
He said that the next priorities should focus on increasing production, promoting exports, attracting domestic and foreign investment, creating jobs, and enhancing the competitive capacity of the Nepali economy.
The President mentioned that it is necessary to effectively use the available opportunities in hydropower, tourism, agriculture and agro-based industries, information technology, and the production sector. He said that especially creating opportunities and entrepreneurial possibilities for the country’s youth at home is a shared responsibility.
The President expressed his belief that in today’s era of digital transformation and global competition, the federation will play a more leading role in connecting its national network with the international economic network to bring Nepali products, services, and enterprises to the world market. —
