World Egg Day marked in Chitwan

Chitwan, Oct 9: Zumba dance and egg walk were organised organised in Chitwan district today. Nepal Layers Poultry Farmers Association organised the programme to mark the World Egg Day.

The Day was observed by performing zumba dance at the premises of Chitwan Association of Industries while Chief District Officer of Chitwan Ganesh Aryal inaugurated the ‘egg walk’. The egg walk started from the premises of Chitwan Association of Industries concluded reaching the same place passing through Hospital Road, Chaubiskothi, Birendra Campus chowk.

The participants in the walk presented a procession highlighting the importance of egg for human health. On the occasion, the Association created public awareness about the nutritional and health benefits of egg.

The World Egg Day is observed on the second Friday of October every year. The theme of this year’s World Egg Day is ‘Protein that Powers and Protects’. First established in Vienna of Austria in 1996, the World Egg Day marked its 30th anniversary this year. —
